Steve Krasner Writing Workshop

Sportswriter and children's books author Steve Krasner (yes, the Red Sox Steve Krasner) was here on Veteran's Day to present a writing workshop for kids/parents. I can tell you there was a LOT of enthusiastic "verbal participation" for parts of it, but I trusted the grownups to keep him under control!

Don Quinn is a "Real" Author!

Board Trustee Don Quinn was the guest of honor at a Book Launch Party hosted at the Schoharie Library by Friends and Family of the author. Don read from his first hardcover/published book titled "St. Maverick's." Don donated an autographed copy to the Library, so everyone will have a chance to read it.

Classic guitarist Kevin Hubbard serenaded a rapt audience
Thursday evening. His newest CD, "Catnip," is available
for borrowing and is well worth a listen.

Free Computer Classes

Board President Jody DeJong is again teaching a series of free computer classes at the Library. Class is held Thursday evening from 6:30-7:30. Class size is limited, so call 295-7127 today to sign up.
Aug. 14 - Microsoft Word - word processing for letters, etc.
Aug. 21 - Microsoft Excell - spreadsheets for budgets, etc.
Aug. 28 - Powerpoint - for presentations, computer photo albums, etc.

Science in the Summer Experimenters!

Science in the Summer

"Science in the Summer" comes to the Schoharie Library on Thursday July 24th from 1-2:30 pm. School-aged children and their families can play with the approximately two dozen science stations that will be set up all around the building. Retired GE scientists Waxy Waxgiser, Joe DiPietro and Hal Webster will be here to explain the how and whys of each hands-on activity. Drop in any time!
