The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Reflection on Service: Stories of Hurricane Irene

Happy New Year to all our friends of Schoharie Free Library!
The Library is sending a shout out to those who volunteered to get us up and running in the aftermath of Hurricane Irene.  We would like you to participate with us in an exciting project. SFL is joining with RPI, SALT, the NY Folklore Society, and AmeriCorps VISTA as well as other groups and volunteers for the

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Reflection on Service:
Stories of Hurricane Irene

 Monday, January 20th
10:00am-4:00pm
Middleburgh Reformed Church
This will be a day of story collection and remembrance for those not only impacted by Irene but also those who assisted in the clean up.
Volunteers may join in the morning workshop on the art of storytelling or come at 12:00pm for the luncheon, guest speaker and round table discussion.
Participants and their stories will listed on the NY Folklore Society's website.
If you assisted in the Library's clean up and rebuilding we would love for you to participate and become a recorded part of history.
