Summer Concert Series
Dear Friends of Schoharie Free Library,
We are entering our final week of our 2013 Summer Reading Program Dig Into Reading About.... This week's theme is Dig Into Reading About MUSIC. We will be teaming up once again with the SCHA Summer Youth Program and their Band Camp as we study, craft and read about music...particularly Rhythms of Asia.

We will be teaming up once again with the SCHA Summer Youth Program and their Band Camp as we study, craft and read about music...particularly Rhythms of Asia.
Concluding our week's events, and our Summer Reading Program, will be a mini-concert series.
Saturday, August 17th at 7pm join us on the Library Lawn as the SCHA Summer Youth Band Camp* presents a concert entitled Rhythms of Asia. Conducted by Mrs. Jessica Gould, music students will be bringing their audience through the Rhythms of Asia. Proceeds from the performance will benefit the SCHA Youth Band Camp*. In addition, donations to Schoharie Recovery will be accepted during the performance. Admission for Saturday's concert is $5 per person or $15 per family of four or more (this includes immediate family only)
Sunday, August 18th at 3pm join us again on the Library lawn as The Upper Catskill String Quartet* performs a program of American Popular Music~Scott Joplin Through the Late 20th Century.The Quartet was formed in 2001 to provide the opportunity for audiences to hear classical string music as well as to serve as accompaniment for featured soloists and high school and community choral groups.Members of The Upper Catskill String Quartet* include Natalya Milman (violinist), Beth Brandel (violinist, John DeValve (violist), & Robert Gosselink (cellist). Admission is by donation. Proceeds will benefit the Schoharie Free Library's Programming Fund.
Seating is limited for both performances. Please feel free to bring lawn chairs or blankets to enjoy the show!

Monday, August 12th 1:30pm Storytime & a Matinee (All Ages) Earn reading time toward your Dig Into Reading goals as we read stories about Asia to meet reading goals. Dig Into Local History Dig Into Music's Matinee this week is Mulan
Tuesday, August 13th 11:30am Dig Into Reading Enrichment Days (All Ages) August 13th Art Enrichment Celebrate China Create two art projects to bring home to celebrate Chinese culture.
Tuesday, August 14th 2:00pm Munchies & a Movie Come for a midday matinee and enjoy some of the greatest movies of yesterday and today! Call the Library at 295-7127 for movie titles.
Thursday August 15th 7:00pm Dig Into Reading Movie Night The King and I
Don't forget to bring in your Reading Logs! Our prize drawing this week is a beautiful Asian Flute! Three hours of reading enters you into the drawing!
Grand Prize Drawing for the Family Pack of tickets to Howes Caverns will be drawn at Sunday's concert! All registered readers who have read 20 hours are eligible for the drawing!
