Sloughter's Hysterically Illustrated History of Schoharie County is the name of Gus LaMonica's new book. Funded in part by a grant from the TriCounty Arts Council and printed by The Tryon Press, this 68 page paperback attempts to "give the reader a brief glimpse of some of the major events in the history of our county in a humerous and memorable way." From 400 million years ago to the present, this book serves up a slightly different point of view that is sure to stick in your memory. Copies are for sale at the Library for a total of $16.15 (tax included). The opening for "Scenes from Schoharie Counties' History by Gus LaMonica" was held at the Library on Monday evening. The series of 11 framed oil paintings depecting scenes from Schoharie County's past will be showing at the Library until September 10th. Stop in and bring your camera! So far, everybody's favorite in the Howe Caverns Cows...
