Folksong Camp Performance

Come to The Library on Friday July 17th at 2 pm for a performance by the students of the Folksong camp of the Depot Lane Theater. This year, they will present Songs of the Underground Railroad AND Songs of the American Railroad Movement.

Reptile Adventure is Coming!

The reptiles are coming to The Library on Thursday July 16th at 3 pm. "Touch a snake! Pet a turtle! See eye to eye with a South American frog! Plus, learn how these creatures live, what to do if you meet one in the wild, and more!" Jessica Shea will also lead everyone in a craft project.

Sylvia Fletcher, Ventriloquist

Sylvia Fletcher is coming to The Library on Thursday July 9th at 7 pm. The New Forest

We had 3 new trees/shrubs planted by Guernsey's Nursery yesterday to replace the giant dying pine trees that were safely cut down. The trees are red oaks, and generations to come will get to admire them in all their full-grown glory; we'll just muddle along as they grow...

Summer Reading Program

The 2009 Summer Reading Program is called Be Creative @ Your Library and will run from Monday July 8th through Saturday August 15th. Come in and sign up to read books, earn prizes, and enter to win either Dragonology or Dinosaur. There are programs to entertain and educate and keep your reading skills up to par (see the Events Calendar).

Paul Trotta - Primitive Tools & Weapons

Paul Trotta, primitive tool and crafts enthusiast, will discuss pre-Columbian technology at the Library on Monday July 29th a 7 pm. He will display and discuss the making of ancient weapons, sewing tools and musical instruments, flintknapping and more, bringing with him reproductions and ceremonial items. Open to the public and free of charge.

Author Ryan Smithson Coming

Ryan Smithson (from East Greenbush area) joined the Army Reserve when he was 17 years old. Two years later, he was deployed to Iraq as a heavy equipment operator. He will be here on Monday June 1st @ 7 pm to discuss his book, Ghosts of War.

Walt LeClair Does Woodcarving!

News to you? Well then, come and watch him as he demonstrates his craft and shows you what can be done with a hunk of wood, sharp tools and imagination. Walt will be here Monday April 20th @ 7pm.
